Crawford's Campground, 87 Horton Rd., Murphy, NC 28906
Phone # 828-837-9077 (tell 'em your with ECBR)
This campground was built with the outdoor enthusiast and family in mind! It is centrally located within approx. 20 min. from Down Town Murphy, approx. 15 min. from Trail #1 in the Tellico OHV area--and approx. 15 min. from Hiawassee Lake where you can rent a pontoon boat from Shook's Marina and fish, swim or just relax on this pristine lake.   Other things to do near by are playing golf at the Cherokee Golf  Course, White water rafting, hiking, biking & shopping in down town Murphy or the local flea markets.
The Campground is the closest-best suited and equipped for the off-road enthusiast in the area.  It offers outstanding views of the mountains that surround this campground, the tranquility of a small trout stream that runs through the campground.  It also has a "ROCK GARDEN" in the middle of the campground to test your skills and rig or just some good entertainment.
So while the kids fish or play on the playground, mom and dad can take their rig "rock crawling" without ever leaving the campground!
Can it get any better than this? Sure can! They also have a large Pavilion with TV and VCR for club or family gatherings.   In addition, they have a large grill that we will loan out for those large gatherings staying with us upon request or we can cater that meal for you.
The camp ground has an onsite shop that has FULLY ENCLOSED WORK BAYS EQUIPPED WITH LIGHTS, AIR TOOLS, TORCH & WELDING MACHINE WHICH CAN BE RENTED AT AN HOURLY RATE. Who hasn't wished for such a setup when you were away from home and needed to make an emergency repair?  If the repair job is too big for you to tackle, there is a local mechanic right next door to the campground or Farmers 4x4 a short distance away.
Features include creek side fully equipped cabins, bunk houses with air conditioning and heat, full hookup RV sites, water and electric and primitive campsites.  All sites have picnic tables and fire rings.  We have two separate bath houses with private individual bathing facilities (hot private showers), coin laundry machines, ice, gasoline, LP gas, firewood, bon fire pit and a man-made "Rock Garden".

They also  NOW OFFER WILD BLUE BROADBAND "WIFI" INTERNET ACCESS  AT NO EXTRA CHARGE FOR THE FOLKS STAYING IN THE CAMPGROUND!

Trail use fees and/or camping fees will be the responsibility of the individual parties attending.

The East Coast Bronco Registry Free-4-All event describes the informal rendezvous at the private camp ground located at Crawford's Cam, and involves the meeting, and fellowship of fellow ECBR members. No one shall hold the ECBR, Crawford's Camp, its organizers, or any members responsible for any loss of property, life or injury of any persons present, either part of the event, or not. This event describes only the informal meeting itself, and nothing else in any way, shape or form.

Tellico ORV Area was donated a couple of decades ago by a logging company and consists of 12 trails of varying lengths and difficulty. The trails consist of rocks, mud, big rocks, ruts, loose rocks, steep hills, rock ledges, a few water crossings, highly eroded dirt "walls" with roots and rocks protruding from the sides (sidewall eaters) and rock gardens. The easy trails can be run with stock vehicles, vehicles that do the medium trails should have 33" tires and a rear locker, the hard trails require 35" tires, front & rear lockers, winch, and a disregard for body damage. Our "hard" trails are quite different than the ones out west; with they're near perfect traction. More times than not, you'll find the trails at Tellico to be wet with several of the hardest obstacles have seeping springs located right at the base of them. Ultra low gears are not needed here and sometimes hurt more than they help, as wheel spin is required to clean the tires and heat up the rubber in hopes that they will stick to the wet rocks. You will see a lot of local rigs here with 400 horsepower and tires in the 40"+ range. These big rigs (locally called hybrids or cab trucks) are what keep our trails interesting. When they "hammer down" they tend to move large quantities of rock and dirt, so the trails are in a constant state of change. Therefore, the "line" that worked for you on your last trip, may not be the correct approach the next time out. That's what makes this place such a hoot to ride.it's always changing!
